I made this poem while languishing over the death of Jean Grey in X2: X-Men United. I hated it when the characters I like die at the end of a film. I especially don't like it when that character's actor happens to be a favourite lol.
Fenice*
As you soar up the sky
I see your wings so bright
Your enchanting song calms me down
And it brings a smile on my face
You may be a myth, a legend
An immortal with eyes of fire
Flames surround your entire body
Storms that rage the air every beat of your wings
You heal those who are wounded
Loyal to those who care for you
But when it is time for you to go
You burn until all I can see are dust
How surreal this moment is
To see you rise upon the ashes
I believe it now that I've seen it
You will always come back to us
I also made referrals to Fawkes here, since he also happens to be a Phoenix. Although everyone knows that Fawkes will always come back. Jean won't ever come back though in the comics she did several times. This poem was also written in my poem diary, ironically with a Phoenix (Fawkes) on the first page.
*Fenice is Italian for Phoenix
