Tragedy and LoveTuesday, August 28, 2007Because I was so excited about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I finally bought a copy and can't wait for the other one. In just two or three chapters, Harry lost close friends. I couldn't believe that the gift Sirius has given him 4 years ago, his Firebolt fell and was lost. And then this damn Death Eater Avada Kedavra'd Hedwig. Poor Harry. They also lost Mad Eye on the way to the Burrow...and George's ear. By far, Deathly Hallows is the darkest Harry series. I guess it's supposed to be since this is the last book. And Hedwig and Mad Eye are not the only casualties. There are a lot. For those who have read the book, you would probably know that Harry's close friend, Dobby, was killed was Bellatrix. I cried when I was reading that part. I love the fact that Harry Potter are his last words. I also couln't believe that Fred is dead. Poor George. Also, Remus and Tonks Lupin had died. Yes, they got married, secretly though. It was one of the cutest moments of the book. The most horrible death is Snape's. I just wished that Voldemort Avada Kedavra'd him but instead, he let Nagini bite him and Snape bled to death. Maybe it was so, so that Severus can tell Harry his side and why he so loathed Harry. I found out that Snape could've been Harry's father. So that explains Lily's eyes. Snape had loved Lily and was so grieved that his master had killed her. And of course, a happy ending. For Ron and Hermione fans, they finally hook up. Oh, yeah, they get married too. I just can't place where I have seen the names Rose and Hugo before, aside from the fact that they both start with R and H. And it was Harry and Ginny forever. This is the part I love. They have three children: James, Albus Severus, and Lily. Little Albus Severus is 11 and about to go to Hogwarts. He's afraid that he'll be sorted in Slytherin. Harry talks to him and says, "You were named after two great Headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was Slytherin and he was the bravest man I have ever known." I won't delve how Harry had defeated Tom Riddle but it has something to do with the Deathly Hallows. And and Elder Wand. Well, Harry's journey is finally over and his scar haven't hurt him in 19 years. But I don't think the readers will just stop there. There's still the movies though (and seeing more of Daniel Radcliffe ). As for the copy I bought, I don't think I would sell it anymore. It's first edition. I might be able to give it to my future kids someday and tell them the story of Harry and how I journeyed with him for 8 years. Labels: harry potter |
